From sawdust to service calls, I’ve been working with my hands my whole life.
My name is Clayton Thielman. I grew up in the rural Shuswap near Salmon Arm in a family of loggers and farmers. I started working at my dad’s sawmill at 12, custom cutting wood and helping on the farm. That’s where I learned what a hard day’s work looks like, and how much pride comes from doing it right.
The trade that built my path
Right out of high school I started in the electrical trade. Since then, I’ve worked across British Columbia and Alberta on everything from residential service work to industrial environments. I’ve run my own service van for years, and I also spent two years as a maintenance supervisor at a sawmill, troubleshooting motors, controls, and the kind of problems that don’t come with an instruction manual.
Why I started Current Cowboy
I started Current Cowboy Electrical to bring honest, hard working service to Calgary and the surrounding area. The “cowboy” name comes from my roots, long days, early mornings, and the pride of earning your keep. It’s a reminder to show up, work hard, and do the job right.

Home base
My wife and I are settled in Calgary, and that matters. It means when we stand behind our work, we’re here to back it up. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me playing hockey or out mountain biking in the Bragg Creek and Moose Mountain area.
